Surgery
Samantha's surgery went really well! We got to the hospital yesterday around 6:30 AM and everything was over around 8 AM. It was a really quick surgery. The surgeon made an incision in both of Samantha's ear drums and put tubes in to keep the hole open (myringotomy with tubes). After the surgery, Samantha was really upset from the anesthesia and it took her a couple of hours to calm down. That was probably the most difficult part. It's hard to watch your child scream that long! We think the surgery helped Samantha feel more comfortable. This morning Samantha woke up happier than I've ever seen her. Big smiles. It made feeding kind of difficult. But what mom can be frustrated at a happy, smiley baby- even if that does mean that her feeding took an hour.

Oh I'm so glad she's happier! It's hard to believe she could be any happier than when we saw her. She was all smiles for us! What a sweet baby girl!
